Rescue Cambodia will send six boys and six girls between the ages of 10 & 11, who will arrive at the Vancouver International Airport all the way from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport after initially taking off from the Phnom Penh International Airport. Accompanying the children are pastor Sokthon, Rescue alumni, Thavin and Andet, dance instructor, Sany, and Rescue advisor, Marie Ens, alongside her assistant, Trakuan.
The tour will see the group of 18, accompanied by some Canadian friends, will travel across western Canada and across the southern border into the “Land of 10,000 Lakes”, Minnesota. The churches visited will be treated to five traditional Cambodian dances along with testimonies and stories about the good work being done in Cambodia, the “Kingdom of Wonder”.
Much work has been done in preparation. Aside from the dance-training, costumes have had to be sewn, suitcases had to be thoroughly packed, many items had to be purchased from the markets of Phnom Penh, and numerous videos and photographs have been taken for use during the events. Now that the exhaustive prep-work has been done, everyone involved is extremely eager to get started. The fears of a first plane ride have been overridden by the eagerness of everyone involved.
As we begin this massive undertaking, please keep everyone involved in the tour in your prayers.
